EAT: a site-specific video project for de UNIE restaurant to take place in the restaurant during the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2003. Beginning on Wednesday, January 22, there will be a looped program of video curated by laurie halsey brown shown on a monitor in the restaurant. The EAT video program will reflect and heighten your UNIE experience, with works dealing with ideas of eating, cooking and restaurants. It will include historical pieces from the 1920s as well as contemporary works made especially for this project. There will also be performative gestures such fortune cookies with enhanced fortunes along with a food based performance. Artists in the project are: VJ Yariv Alterfin, Martin Arnold, Vartan Aror, Susanna Brenner, Laurie Halsey Brown, Charlie Bowers, Carla Cruz, Claudia van Dijk, Stefanie Douwes, Birta Gudjonsdottir, Bren Heymans, Eric Hobyn, Nina-Marie Hoechtl, George Kimmerling, DJ Gabriel Kousboek, Bastiaan Lips, DJ Niels Marieé, Navid Nuur, Martha Rosler, Tina Sejbjerg, Eduardo Thomas.
